Education is key to Bitcoin decentralisation
The Bitcoin Education Fondation is a Swiss entity that aims to scale the Bitcoin education layer. Our mission is to centralise and improve on the educational content already available and support a decentralized distribution.
In our minds, Bitcoin mass adoption looks like 1 000 000 small Bitcoin Beach initiatives with local Bitcoin experts to support their community. We will make this happen with a coherent plan and the help of the Bitcoin community.

In the following pages and documents, we will explain in details the vision, roadmap, challenges and interconnected elements of this plan. The end goal is to have a worldwide, simultaneous adoption so governments and regulators can’t stop it. This is possible and we will make it happen.

Therefore the fondation’s mission is to help local Bitcoin communities flourish and grow. We would like to see one node by village, a private key per family and a miner in each community. In the long run, these are the principles that carry the adoption we want.
To achieve this, our plan relies on a combination of open-source services and the Bitcoin community’s support. We aim for a bottom-up approach where fellow bitcoiners will be at the center.
1. We want to creat an open-source Bitcoin university to ensure a high level of Bitcoin education. This will create highly skilled bitcoiners ready to support their local peers and improve on the Bitcoin industry’s onboarding workforce.
2. Meet-ups and local communities will be supported with various resources to bootstrap their own local circular economy. Passionate bitcoiners will be the link between Bitcoin and beginners.
3. High school programs will be designed and launched around the world to offer Bitcoin courses. Local bitcoiners will be trained to do them with our educational resources. Kids that are interested in Bitcoin will then log onto the academy for further studies.
4. We must create a P2P mentorship market to embrace the huge flow of beginner questions and the customer support associated if Bitcoin reaches mass adoption.

As a fondation, our mission is to help reach global bitcoin education. To do so, we have a roadmap and a plan of action. The money collected through our sponsors will be use as follow:
- 40% – Bitcoin University
- 20% – Peer-to-peer mentorship
- 10% – High school program
- 10% – Ambassador program
- 10% – Grant
- 10% – Reserve

Scaling education does require some degree of centralisation.
We know: a foundation for Bitcoin… what about decentralisation?
Well, the thing is: education doesn’t need to be decentralised all the way. It’s actually quite counter productive and ineficient if every Bitcoin community in the world were to recreate BTC 101 courses, an “How to accept Bitcoin” flyer or some SeedSigner tutorial.
It’s just a wast of time, money and energy.
We need to step up the educational game and do it fast. Why? Well, as a reminder, Bitcoin is at war against the fiat empire, and while they are playing nice for now, it won’t last.
Bitcoin pollutes, where is my yield on Bitcoin, Lightning doesn’t work, mining is centralized etc etc etc. Those basic attacks will follow us for decades to come and only education can solve it.
The foundation may be tricky move, but helping the Bitcoin educational layer scale is necessary and a centralisation of resources for a better distribution is a compromise worth being discussed.
